Catchup Time
Well after some very long hard weeks we have rolled out the next release of the WPG2 plug-in, timed also to fully support Gallery2 2.1.
Sorry for being slow in updating this blog so I got about ten backdated entries to update so expect a rare rush of updates ![]()
I tried to install the Wordpresstheme for Gallery 2.1, which I loaded from the Menalto-Gallery-Site, but the Gallery reports the error, when I want to switch to Administration –> Themes:
Error (ERROR_BAD_PLUGIN) : Class wordpressTheme does not exist

Please Help!!!
Just offhand, it looks like you are loading the theme in Gallery and not Wordpress? Its supposed to be a Wordpress theme.
Great theme by the way!
The Wordpress theme was intended for Gallery 2.0x, please use the WordpressEmbedded Theme for Gallery2 2.1.
Also if I can please get you to instead post your issues over @ the GalleryEmbedded forums which is the support site for the WPG2 plug-in.
Thanks and I hope this fixes it for you..
I’m noticing that you also use a custom Gallery2 theme soo that everything fits nicely into the WP2 screen. Is there any chance we could get you to post this theme online for download as both an example and as a quick tool for those of us new to this? Even if not then thanks for the cool plugin, this is going to be a lot of fun to play with.
Thanks either way,
Greg
Hiya Greg,
The (Falling Leaves) theme is over @ the WPG2 forums (and freely downloadable). This theme when combined with the WordpressEmbedded Theme should give you the same look at my site..
Hi OzGreg,
I wanted to give you some props and thank you for the countless hours you’ve dedicated to makingour sites look pimp. Thanks!
Hey Greg,
Good work on the blog. I take it there aren’t too many blugs because it all seems to be up and working. I am currious what your set up is as I am trying to work out the best way to get a similar setup for my site (wordpress/gallery2). I want to start experimenting using a plug in for google maps to “add to the experience” (read because I think it would be cool…
)
Hey James,
Sorry for the almost missed replied, I just installed some more anti-spam plugin’s as this blog was getting spam’d to death and forgot to reply to thi, sorry!!
I am not aware of any issues with the WPG2 plugin, a few people have reported some issues with the clean URL’s but they seem to be more a hosting issue than the plugin..
The biggest concern is not actually the plugin but the way the WP themes work, we still find a lot of CSS clashes but if you look @ the WPG2 forums you will find plenty of help and tips..
I seen a few postings on the WPG2 forum regarding googlemaps (I think someone hacked something) it is certainly on my radar to have a greater look/see but time is a little pressing for now but I am slowly getting on top of my moving in / fixing up my place
Drop me an email anytime.
OzGreg
Hi there, been trying to find your address to email you on a subject I thought might be of interest…hmm, that sounds sketchy doesn’t it?
Anyway, I can’t seem to find it, how can I contact you?
i tried for to embed the gallery2 in wordpress,
used your theme BUT it says
Standard WPG2 Theme
Incompatible theme!
Core API Required: 6.0 (available: 7.3)
Theme API Required: 2.0 (available: 2.3)
i guess it is not upgraded for the new gallery2 setup.
if there is another one available plz do forward the link.
Thanks
Alcatraz,
Please download the WordpressEmbedded Theme. In future can you please post Support queries to the WPG2 Support Forum,
Thanks
Open apology, ozgreg, since despite my best efforts I can’t find an email address for you:
I’m very sorry to have been so obnoxious in the WPG2 forum. I was offensive and it was wrong, and I feel badly about it.
I hope you’ll accept my apology.
By way of making amends, I would be happy to try, in September, to write up some hopefully helpful notes to explain the header.php and footer.php mandatory format for using WPG2. Would you accept them if I sent them?
Again, I’m sorry.
Take care.
-Sara
My blog and website are different and I really don’t want my random sidebar image to be linked to an embedded gallery. Is there a way I can have link directly to the image in Gallery2 rather than imbedding the gallery in my WP theme, which doesn’t match?
Hi Greg,
Sorry to mention this, but we haven’t been overwhelmed by that rare rush of updates you led us to expect at the end of March.
However, I have heard you are rather busy, just couldn’t resist the opportunity to tease.
