Plugin Upgrade
Well considering I am part of the development team for the WPG2 Plugin I thought it was past the time I should switch my own site over to the new plug-in.
Switched the random photo over to a daily photo, you have to keep on coming back each day now

I was thinking on jumping onto the G2 / WP bandwagon but before I go for it I was wondering how tight (if at all) is the intergration between posting a blog entry and inserting images into the gallery? Can you submit a image to a gallery at the point of creating a blog entry? Or do you have to use gallery first? I am setting up a blog with a variety of contributors and want to make photo submission as simple as possible but I love all the cool features of gallery2.

The order would be Gallery2 to host your images then using the WP tags to basically “post” that image into your blog.
You are very welcome to try out the Plug-in for yourself by following the link on the sidebar to the WPG2 Community.
So there is no functionality currently to assist in the insertion at the blog writing stage? No upload button or anything similar?
No plans to extend this kind of functionality, although certainly the Gallery API’s do exist to support such a request..
Post your request over @ the forums and we will have a discussion about it some more, rather than a series of Blog entries
